Day 24. Still cruising. Last week's FTP restructure went relatively well, now allowing up to 65,000 FTP accounts (we were at 228 out of 256). So use 'em! Add Emucamp's "hack" (actually, a well documented FTP upload) earlier this week to the list of reasons to give staff members their own account and change passwords often. I will not force you, but do not ignore the problems group accounts cause. NewsUpdate One casualty of the changes was NewsUpdate, which broke pretty badly (sorry folks). Instead of patching it, I replaced it. About 60% of the code is new and I added many of the features people have requested. I will be documenting the new additions next week. Bye lev! In case you haven't noticed, lev is out of town for the week. As with any good vacation, he won't be logging on until he gets back. If something needs immediate attention, forward it to me. New ads? We are switching over to a new ad rotation system which will allow us to mix brokers and hopefully provide ads which cater more to our audience. Most (all?) of you probably don't care, but if you see the occasional broken ad, this is why. Another FTP outage? On the hardware side this time. This will occur tomorrow if Mercury's upgrade goes smoothly, otherwise Monday. The FTP server will be moving into a new case among some other minor upgrades, to prepare for some upcoming network upgrades. The server will be down for 3 - 4 hours. Until next time, -- Brian
